Steve Chang, president of Trend Micro, curiously made a comments as the outfit released its security software for Android smartphones. He said that open source software is 'inherently insecure'.
He continued, "We have to give credit to Apple, because they are very careful about it. It's impossible for certain types of viruses [to operate]".
In any case it is unlikely that these statements may impair the sales of Trend Micro. After all, most open source software does not need any security software from Trend Micro.
