Football Manager 14 For Linux

Sports Interactive and SEGA have announced that their prized franchise Football Manager will arrive on Linux, starting with the 2014 edition.

The news means that the upcoming Football Manager 2014 will be the first official release of the series on Linux.

“So the promised snippet of #FM14 news. As well as being on Mac & Windows, it will also be on Linux. With crossplay. One price for all 3 - so if you have a Macbook, Windows laptop and Linux desktop (for example) you'll be able to play the game on each of those machines via Steam,” stated the official announcement on Facebook.

The game is made by Sports Interactive and published by Sega and is a continuation of the Championship Manager series started in 1989 by the same developers. Legal fallout from a split with publisher Edios Interactive forced the developers to change the name.

Football Manager 2014 is expected to see a release date sometime around October.
